Jie Yang, Conductor, violinist and violist. Founder of The Greater Boston Asian American Youth Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts. Before coming to Boston, Mr. Yang has served as a conductor, program director and violin/viola teacher for Dallas Asian American Youth Symphony Orchestra and Plano Independent School District, in Texas. Under his leadership, Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra has given many public performances to community of Dallas area, in Texas.
Mr. Yang served as a Concert Master of Dailan Symphony Orchestra and Liaoling Symphony Orchestra in China. He has performed to the public both in China and the United States. He received his Bachelor Degree in Violin Performance from ShenYang Conservatory, China. Both of his Gradate Performance Diploma and Master Degree in Violin Performance, were awarded from Longy School of Music, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He studied with renowned violinist Emmuel Borok, Eric Rosenblith, Janet Packer and Roman Totenberg, Viola studied with Patricia McCarty.
Jie Yang is an enthusiastic chamber music coach and educator. His passion in music making and diligent teaching has won high recognition in the music community. His students are participating in all District & Region orchestra, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, New England Conservatory and local music school. He leads many of his students to community performances in the Greater Boston area. Mr. Yang teaches and lives in Lexington with his family.
